Good Hope is a friendly residential neighborhood in the southeast portion of Washington, D.C, near Anacostia. Most of the families and homes in this area are classified as middle class. The style of home in Good Hope is mainly single-family detached and semi-detached homes.
One thing that is very convenient for residents of this area is the year-round Fort Dupont Ice Arena skating rink and the Smithsonian Institution’s Anacostia Museum are nearby. Good Hope is bounded by Fort Stanton Park to the north, Suitland Road to the south, Naylor Road to the west, and Branch Avenue to the east. One of the things that has residents excited in the area is the proposed Skyland Shopping Center redevelopment project which is within the boundaries of the Good Hope.
